Scandic St. Barbara is located in the centre of Tallinn, on a side street leading off one of the city's busiest roads. It is just a block away from the main square and within a few minutes' walk of the business and shopping districts.

The Scandic St Barbara Hotel is housed in what is considered to be one of the most beautiful limestone buildings in Tallinn, built in 1903. Though small, the raised lobby, with its simple modern decor and marble floor, has a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, reminiscent of a family-run hotel. The guest rooms vary in size due to the age of the building. Decorated in soft green, brown and beige colours, they are modern, comfortable and attractive. The white tiled bathrooms are in excellent condition, though most have a shower only. Located in the basement, the hotel's restaurant - "Baiari Kelder" - is in the style of a German bierstube, with grey brick walls, a vaulted ceiling, roaring fire places and 19th century furniture, creating an inviting, relaxed atmosphere. It serves traditional German cooking and a wide variety of draught beers. Separate sections called Master’s Chamber and Small Chamber are also available for private gatherings.
